Subscription and Cancellation Policy
This Subscription and Cancellation Policy ("Policy") governs the terms and conditions for managing, modifying, and canceling your HL Hunt membership subscription. At HL Hunt, we believe in transparency and making it easy for our members to manage their accounts. You may cancel your subscription at any time using any of the methods described in this Policy.
This Policy applies to all HL Hunt membership plans, including personal and business subscriptions, regardless of billing frequency or membership tier. By subscribing to HL Hunt services, you agree to the terms set forth in this Policy.
1. Subscription Overview
1.1 Subscription Model
HL Hunt operates on a monthly subscription model. Your membership renews automatically each billing cycle until you cancel. Subscriptions are managed through our payment processing partner, Finix, which provides secure billing and subscription management services.
1.2 Billing Cycle
- Monthly Billing: Your subscription renews on the same date each month (e.g., if you subscribed on the 15th, you will be billed on the 15th of each subsequent month).
- Automatic Renewal: Unless you cancel, your subscription will automatically renew and your payment method will be charged the applicable Monthly Maintenance Fee.
- Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through Finix. You can view your billing history and manage payment methods through your account dashboard or the Finix Customer Billing Portal.
1.3 What Your Subscription Includes
- Access to the HL Hunt Marketplace
- HL Hunt Credit Line (subject to approval and credit limit)
- Credit bureau tradeline reporting (not guaranteed; see Terms and Conditions)
- Member support and account management
- Access to member dashboard at app.hlhunt.org
Subscription Management
You can manage all aspects of your subscription—including updating payment methods, viewing billing history, and canceling—through the Finix Customer Billing Portal, your HL Hunt account dashboard at app.hlhunt.org, or by contacting customer support.
2. How to Cancel Your Subscription
You may cancel your HL Hunt subscription at any time using any of the following methods. All cancellation methods are equally valid—choose the one most convenient for you.
2.1 Cancel via Finix Customer Billing Portal (Recommended)
The fastest way to cancel is through the Finix Customer Billing Portal:
- Access the Portal: Click the "Manage Subscription" link in any billing email, or log in to your HL Hunt account and select "Billing Portal" from your account settings.
- Verify Your Identity: Enter your email address associated with your HL Hunt account. You'll receive a secure link to access your billing dashboard.
- Navigate to Subscription: In the billing portal, locate your active HL Hunt subscription under "Active Subscriptions" or "Current Plan."
- Select Cancel: Click "Cancel Subscription" or "Cancel Plan." You may be asked to confirm your decision.
- Confirm Cancellation: Review the cancellation details, including your final billing date and when your access will end. Click "Confirm Cancellation."
- Receive Confirmation: You will receive an email confirmation of your cancellation. Save this for your records.

2.2 Cancel via HL Hunt App (app.hlhunt.org)
You can cancel directly from your HL Hunt account dashboard:
- Log In: Go to app.hlhunt.org and log in to your HL Hunt account using your credentials.
- Go to Settings: Click on your profile icon or navigate to "Account Settings" from the main menu.
- Select Subscription: Find "Subscription" or "Membership" in your account settings.
- Click Cancel: Select "Cancel Subscription" or "Cancel Membership." You may be shown information about your remaining access period.
- Confirm: Follow the prompts to confirm your cancellation request.
- Confirmation: Your cancellation will be processed and you will receive an email confirmation.
2.3 Cancel via Customer Support
If you prefer to cancel with assistance from our team:
- Email: Send a cancellation request to support@hlhunt.org with the subject line "Cancellation Request." Include your full name and the email address associated with your account.
- Live Chat: Use the chat feature at app.hlhunt.org or www.hlhunt.org to message our support team directly.
- Response Time: Customer support cancellation requests are processed within one (1) business day. You will receive email confirmation once your cancellation is complete.

No Cancellation Fees
HL Hunt does not charge any cancellation fees, termination fees, or early exit fees. You may cancel at any time without penalty (subject to your outstanding Credit Line Balance obligations as described in Section 5).
3. Cancellation Timing and Billing
Understanding when your cancellation takes effect and how it impacts billing.
3.1 When Cancellation Takes Effect
- End of Current Billing Period: When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of your current paid billing period. You will not be charged for the next billing cycle.
- Continued Access: You retain full access to your HL Hunt account, Marketplace, and Credit Line until your current billing period ends.
- No Immediate Termination: Cancellation does not immediately terminate your account. You have already paid for the current period and are entitled to use the service through that period.
3.2 Billing Period Example

- Your final charge was the Monthly Maintenance Fee at the start of your current billing period.
- No additional Monthly Maintenance Fees will be charged after cancellation is confirmed.
- Any outstanding Credit Line Balance remains your obligation and must be paid separately (see Section 5).
Cancel Before Billing Date
To avoid being charged for another month, submit your cancellation request before your next billing date. Cancellations submitted after the billing date will take effect at the end of the newly charged period.
4. What Happens After Cancellation
Here's what to expect once your subscription ends.
4.1 Immediate Effects
When your billing period ends after cancellation:
- Marketplace Access Suspended: You will no longer be able to make purchases in the HL Hunt Marketplace using your Credit Line.
- Credit Line Frozen: Your Credit Line will be frozen. No new charges can be made.
- Account Dashboard Limited: You can still log in to app.hlhunt.org to view your account history, check your Credit Line Balance, and make Balance Payments.
- Payment Methods Preserved: Your payment method remains on file to process any outstanding Balance Payments or if you choose to reactivate.

4.3 Email Notifications
You will receive the following email notifications:
- Cancellation Confirmation: Sent immediately when your cancellation is processed.
- Subscription End Notice: Sent when your billing period ends and subscription terminates.
- Balance Reminder: If you have an outstanding Credit Line Balance, you'll receive reminders about your payment obligation.
5. Credit Line Balance Obligations
Canceling your subscription does not eliminate your obligation to repay your Credit Line Balance.
Important — Balance Due
YOUR CREDIT LINE BALANCE DOES NOT GO AWAY WHEN YOU CANCEL. Any outstanding balance for Marketplace purchases remains your legal obligation and must be paid in full. Failure to pay may result in collection action and negative credit reporting.
5.1 Your Balance Obligation
- Your Credit Line Balance represents the total amount you owe for purchases made through the HL Hunt Marketplace.
- This balance is a debt you owe to HL Hunt regardless of your subscription status.
- Canceling your subscription does not forgive, reduce, or eliminate this debt.
- You remain responsible for paying your full Credit Line Balance even after cancellation.
5.2 How to Pay Your Balance After Cancellation
- Account Dashboard: Log in to app.hlhunt.org to view your balance and make payments.
- Finix Billing Portal: Make payments through the secure billing portal.
- Customer Support: Contact support@hlhunt.org for payment assistance or to set up a payment plan.
5.3 Consequences of Non-Payment
If you fail to pay your outstanding Credit Line Balance:
- Late Fees: Applicable late fees may be assessed on overdue amounts.
- Credit Reporting: Delinquent balances may be reported to credit bureaus, potentially damaging your credit score.
- Collections: Seriously delinquent accounts may be referred to third-party collection agencies.
- Legal Action: HL Hunt reserves the right to pursue legal remedies to recover amounts owed.
- Reactivation Blocked: You will not be able to reactivate your membership until your balance is paid in full.
5.4 Payment Plans
If you are unable to pay your full balance immediately, contact us to discuss payment options. We may be able to arrange a payment plan based on your circumstances. Payment plan requests should be made before your account becomes seriously delinquent.
Balance vs. Subscription
Remember: The Monthly Maintenance Fee (subscription) and your Credit Line Balance are separate obligations. Paying your subscription kept your account active but did not pay down your balance. After cancellation, you must still pay any remaining Credit Line Balance.
6. Refund Policy
Our refund policy for subscription payments.
6.1 General Refund Policy
- No Pro-Rata Refunds: HL Hunt does not provide pro-rated refunds for partial months. If you cancel mid-billing cycle, you retain access through the end of your paid period but will not receive a refund for unused days.
- No Refunds for Past Months: Refunds are not provided for previously completed billing periods.
- Subscription Fees Are Non-Refundable: Monthly Maintenance Fees that have been successfully charged are generally non-refundable.
6.2 Exceptions
Refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:
- Billing Errors: If you were charged incorrectly due to a system error, we will refund the erroneous charge.
- Duplicate Charges: If you were charged multiple times for the same billing period, duplicate charges will be refunded.
- Unauthorized Charges: If you were charged after a valid cancellation was confirmed, the charge will be refunded.
- Service Unavailability: If HL Hunt services were substantially unavailable for an extended period through no fault of your own, a refund or credit may be provided at HL Hunt's discretion.
6.3 How to Request a Refund
- Submit refund requests to support@hlhunt.org with the subject line "Refund Request."
- Include your account email, a description of the issue, and the date/amount of the charge in question.
- Refund requests are reviewed within five (5) business days.
- Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5-10 business days.
Chargebacks
We encourage you to contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company. We're committed to resolving billing issues fairly. Chargebacks for valid charges may result in account suspension and collection action for any outstanding amounts.
7. Reactivation and Rejoining
Changed your mind? Here's how to reactivate your membership.
7.1 Reactivating Your Account
- Before Billing Period Ends: If you canceled but your billing period hasn't ended yet, you may be able to reverse your cancellation. Log in to app.hlhunt.org or the Finix Billing Portal and look for a "Reactivate" or "Resume Subscription" option.
- After Subscription Ends: If your subscription has already ended, you can rejoin by signing up again through www.hlhunt.org or by contacting customer support.
- Outstanding Balance: If you have an unpaid Credit Line Balance from your previous membership, you must pay it in full before reactivating.
7.2 Rejoining After Cancellation
- Former members in good standing (no outstanding balance, no fraud) are welcome to rejoin at any time.
- Rejoining requires completing the membership enrollment process, which may include identity verification.
- Credit Line eligibility and limits upon rejoining will be determined based on HL Hunt's current criteria and may differ from your previous account.
- Previous account history may or may not be preserved depending on how long ago your account was closed.
7.3 Restrictions on Rejoining
You may not be eligible to rejoin if:
- You have an unpaid Credit Line Balance from a previous account.
- Your previous account was terminated for fraud, misrepresentation, or Terms of Service violations.
- Your previous account was referred to collections or charged off.
- You fail to pass identity verification or eligibility requirements.

8. Account Data and Records
What happens to your data after cancellation.
8.1 Data Retention
- Account Records: HL Hunt retains account records, transaction history, and payment records for a minimum of seven (7) years after account closure for legal, regulatory, and compliance purposes.
- Credit Reporting Records: Records related to credit bureau reporting are retained for at least seven (7) years in accordance with FCRA requirements.
- Communication Records: Customer support communications and correspondence are retained for a minimum of three (3) years.
8.2 Data Access
- You can continue to access your account dashboard at app.hlhunt.org after cancellation to view your history and make balance payments.
- Requests for copies of your account records can be submitted to compliance@hlhunt.org.
8.3 Data Deletion Requests
- Certain data may be deleted upon request, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Data required for legal, regulatory, tax, or compliance purposes cannot be deleted until the applicable retention period expires.
- To request data deletion, contact compliance@hlhunt.org with the subject "Data Deletion Request."
9. Credit Reporting After Cancellation
How cancellation affects your credit bureau tradeline.
9.1 Account Closure Reporting
- When your subscription ends, HL Hunt will report your account as "Closed" to the credit bureaus to which your account was being reported.
- If your account was in good standing (all Monthly Maintenance Fees paid on time, Credit Line Balance paid in full), the account will be reported as "Closed in Good Standing" or "Closed by Consumer."
- This closed tradeline may remain on your credit report for up to ten (10) years, depending on the credit bureau's retention policies.
9.2 Impact on Credit
- Good Standing Closure: Closing an account in good standing typically does not harm your credit and the positive payment history remains on your report.
- Outstanding Balance: If you have an unpaid Credit Line Balance after cancellation, delinquent payments or charge-offs may be reported, which can negatively impact your credit score.
- Credit Utilization: Closing an account reduces your available credit, which may affect your overall credit utilization ratio.
9.3 Disputes
If you believe any information reported to credit bureaus after cancellation is inaccurate, you may dispute it by contacting compliance@hlhunt.org or by filing a dispute directly with the relevant credit bureau. See our FCRA Compliance and Consumer Rights Disclosure for complete dispute procedures.
Pay Your Balance Before Canceling
To ensure your account is reported as "Closed in Good Standing," we recommend paying off your Credit Line Balance before or immediately after canceling your subscription. Accounts with unpaid balances may be reported negatively.

Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. You can cancel your HL Hunt subscription at any time without penalty or cancellation fees. Use the Finix Billing Portal, the HL Hunt app at app.hlhunt.org, or contact customer support.
Will I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?
No. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial months. However, your access continues through the end of your current paid billing period.
What happens to my Credit Line Balance when I cancel?
Your Credit Line Balance remains your obligation. Canceling does not eliminate or reduce your balance. You must pay it in full to close your account in good standing.
Can I still make purchases after I cancel?
You can make purchases until the end of your current billing period. After that, your Credit Line is frozen and Marketplace access is suspended.
How long does it take to process a cancellation?

Will canceling hurt my credit score?
If you cancel in good standing (all payments current, balance paid), the impact should be minimal or positive. If you have unpaid balances, delinquency reporting could hurt your score.
Can I rejoin after canceling?
Yes, former members in good standing can rejoin. If you have an unpaid balance, you must pay it before reactivating.
How do I update my payment method before canceling?
You can update your payment method in the Finix Billing Portal or in your account settings at app.hlhunt.org.
What if I was charged after canceling?
If you have a cancellation confirmation email and were still charged, contact support@hlhunt.org immediately. We will refund any charges made after a valid cancellation.
Can I pause my subscription instead of canceling?
Currently, HL Hunt does not offer subscription pausing. You must cancel and later rejoin if you wish to take a break.
